GDA Train-the-Trainer Programme

Turning a group of facilitators into Google’s premier training team, delivering at scale

The Challenge

The Google Digital Academy needed to scale its Digital Marketing Transformation Labs and Mini Labs via an ecosystem of education partners, including AVADO, Jellyfish and ISDI. Byte Behaviour’s role was to sit at the heart of this ecosystem and ensure excellence and consistency in all partner-delivered programmes as Google scaled these to their biggest and most valuable clients across EMEA.


Our Approach: The GDA Way TTT Programme

A 6-year partnership with the GDA to co-create and deliver a rigorous Train-the-Trainer programme for their F2F and virtual Labs and Mini Labs

  • An initial 4-stage intensive training and mentoring programme for core partners

  1. Active observation of the gold standard programme delivery

  2. Deep dive into programme content and design 

  3. Facilitation training and practice using Google’s FAB model

  4. Mentored 3-way and 2-way programme deliveries

  • Regular "facilitator forums” to share results and best practice

  • Refresher TTT as programmes evolved

    • Including a pivot to virtual facilitation during the COVID pandemic

  • TTT extended to include Googlers in key EMEA markets

    • Supporting clients’ digital marketing transformation and JBPs

    • Developing their own client engagement and leadership skills

  • Shorter MiniLab TTT for over 30 EMEA GMP partners and agencies

The Results

250+ trainers trained across education partners, GMP partners and Googlers. 

Enabling the GDA to scale to over 1,500 GDA deliveries reaching c.18k clients from 2018-2024
